Double check to be absolutely sure you are entering the security code correctly.
Once you are positive that the code is correct try the following.
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Tap the little blue arrow next to your network's name > forget this network.
Then allow the iPhone to attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network and again, be absolutely sure you are entering the security code correctly.
Tried all that and no go.
Called my broadband internet provider and they had me get on my laptop and ensure I was using the correct credentials to log on. I was.
Got on the iphone chat line and they just worked me through the procedure in the manual which doesn't get me connected.
My Linksys routher is fairly old and maybe is not compatible with the iphone?
Next step is to buy a new router, maybe.
First try turning off "Cell Data" in your Setting > General > Cell. Sometimes you can join a Wi-Fi network more reliably with Cell Data off.
Called iphone support and he worked me though several things none of which worked, so he had me turn off my modem security and run as an unsecured network. The iphone connected perfectly, no problems. So, just came back from Wally World with a new $39.95 modem and all is well. The new modem works perfectly. Something in my old modem security protocol was not compatible with the iphone. Old modem was Linksys WRT150N V1.1. THIS DID NOT WORK WITH IPHONE.
This has been the most frustrating day I've had all year.
Many modems need an upgrade to the firmware, especially older ones. Also, many older modems just don't work with newer iOS devices, even if they do work with computers.
