Error 29 due iPhone 3gs 16gb restore

I tried to update my 3Gs to iOS 6 today but it cannot be restored due to error 29.

Is it caused by battery, or what?

Yes you are correct. Error 29 is a hardware error. With iPhone 3GS it is most often due to battery incompatibility, but rarely could be fault of charging circuitry. The next step would be battery replacement. It is often difficult to find a compatible iPhone 3GS battery. Most have gotten past this Error 29 with battery of APN (apple part number) 616-0433 or 616-0435. Before opening and during any repair of iPhone 3GS make sure the iPhone is OFF, or you risk damaging Diplay LCD or its Logic Board circuitry.

Thanks for a quick reply, I visited one store which is non official apple, but they are repairin all phones which includes iphone.

They connected my 3Gs to they laptop and after couple of minutes of waiting and doing nothing, just watching what is hapening, they came back and they said that the motherboard is damaged, and did I droped my iPhone somewhere, but I didnt. And I think its impossible to know is it damaged before opening iPhone....Am I right?
