A friend of mine has an @gmail.com Apple ID and Primary Email Address. He wants to add an @me.com address as an Alternate Email Address to his Apple ID on http://appleid.apple.com. However, when he enters his @me.com address and clicks the Verify now button, nothing happens. No verification email is sent.
Why is this? Why can't he get the verification email to be sent?

I think that now, new email aliases need the @icloud.com domain.
We tried doing that (I'm helping him with this problem). We clicked on "Add Email Address" then entered his @me.com address but with @icloud.com at the end instead, then clicked the big blue Save Changes button. But it was rejected, with this error message:
"Email address is already verified for another Apple ID."
I am having the same problem.
I click the verify now button in my account manager on Apple's website but, nothing happens. The page refreshes but, no message to say "we sent u an email" and i use this email address everyday but, not email arrives.
I am trying to verify another email account so friends can find me and call me on this email address.
