I want to sell my old iPhone 4 and feel I need to wipe the data clean prior to sending it to the vendor. How do I permanently reset or hard delete everything on my iPhone so that it is not restored or recoverable?
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase all Content and Settings
or restore it to factory settings:
Restore as a NEW device
Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content & Settings
If you go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
Once you do that it will put the phone into setup mode and everything will be delete from the phone and they won't be able to get your information back.
Thanks.....I followed the directions provided and I feel confident that my data is permanently removed.
My question is this - I have done the reset as instructed, but my phone number is still listed - I am selling it online and don't want that information out there.
I tried to erase all settings but am prompted to enter a passcode which I don't remember.
