itunes won't download movie to iphone 5

Trying to sync iPhone 5 with my MacBook Pro. I had downloaded 'The Avengers' from iTunes to my iMac and then downloaded the same movie to my MacBook Pro from the cloud. When I try to sync my iPhone to my MacBook Pro the movie will not sync and I get an error message that the movie was not copied to the iPhone because I am not authorized to watch it on this computer. If I select Store-->Authorize This computer from the menu, it shows the computer to be authorized. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

iPhone 5, iOS 6, Run Lion v10.7.4

Does it play on your computer? If not, and you keep getting prompts to authorize the computer, see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389.

Plays fine on my computer. I downloaded 'Thor' and have the same problem, although another movie would sync. Difference is that Thor and the Avengers of the iTunes Extras and the other movie does not.

I am having the same problem as TexAg1560. 😟

The movie synced fine with iPad2 and plays, is on MacBookPro and plays but iPhone5 is a no-go.

Suggestions anyone??

I have the same problem, I have the digital copy of Avengers and was able to synchronize it to my iPad 2, plays well on y MacBook Pro but cannot synchronize it to my iPhone 5. Does not make any sense

Same issue here, affecting both iphone5 and ipad2 - same movies won't sync from authorized Mac. Movies play fine on Mac (so evidence that it IS authorized) but just won't sync to devices. Seriously annoying.

The movie may be in HD and you can't sync HD movies to the iOS devices. You have to convert the movie to an iPhone or iPad format, to do this select the movie you want to convert, in the menu bar at the top of the screen click on Advanced and click on "Create iPod or iPhone version" or if you want the video on your iPad, click on "Create iPad or Apple TV version" this should fix your problem. Let me know how it goes. I'm not sure if this will fix the issue but you could try.

Nope, don't have that option. Select the movie, but under Advanced the Convert options are greyed out (not available). Other ideas?

BTW, other HD movies transfer fine. It's just a few movies that were downloaded more recently (in the last month or two) that exhibit the problem.
