Q: i can not download the new version of itunes

Do you get an error message when you try to install the update? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

Is that when you try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website?

I am having the same problem. What it says is the installer has insufficient privileges to access this diectoryC:\programdata\Microsoft\Windows\Startmenu\Programs\iTunes.  The installation cannot contimue.  Logon as administrator or contact your system administrator.  In the Apple Store after the prior version to this version they gave me a list of what to do in a specific order and then it installed.  I need that list of what to do. Does anyone have it?

I'd try right clicking the iTunes install file and choose "Run as administrator" first.

The group, "Adminstrators", is the owner of that global folder.
