Safari Bookmarks

Hi,

I updated my Mac from 10.5.8 to 10.7 recently and backed up my safari bookmarks. Now when I open the bookmarks on my 10.7 mac, they don't restore themselves into my bookmarks bar and menu like they did once before. Thanks in advance.
