More storage? Of what? iWork documents only? What good us it? I really lost a great deal of functionality when Apple took away my ability to send large files of my own choosing to others.

If you don't use iWorks it is no use to you as a data storage service, which is good because it was never meant to be that. Use Dropbox.

you get a URL that you can paste into a message or email
that the person can then link to to download.
I've tried Dropbox and Box and neither is as handy as Mobile Me was in packaging and delivering large content to other people. That was the greatest benefit of Mobile Me for my purposes. iCloud has been a huge downgrade and disappointment. As far as iWorks goes, I love Keynote, but the rest of the apps aren't worth my time. Dropbox has let me down. My clients are forced to sign into thier site (same with Box) and even then there have been problems. I would pay Apple to bring Mobile Me back.
Then use SugarSync, no sign in (for the recipient) and size limits that are as large as your account capacity.
Of what use us iCloud storage if I can only use it for the iWork suite and not to send large files to others?
