Image "Padding" with White Background

I saw in the message archives that someone needed to have images padded with a color other than "black".

I have an Automator Workflow to create a batch of images for posting to our company Ad Slick website.

RGB: .jpg .bmp
Gray: _.jpb _.bmp
RGB: .gif (144px x 144px)

The .gif images are the images that typically suffer from the "black" padding when resizing the original images to 144px x 144px. I added an action right before the Pad Image action is run: Change Type of images > PICT

This produces an image padded with white for final conversion to .gif All the other image type options produced a black background when resizing the images.

Hope this helps someone.

This entire workflow has eliminated the need for the previously scripted Photoshop Action Set!

iBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.6), many other macs too!
