I've seen people say that you can and people say that you need all of these adapters. I've hooked up a pair of pc speakers to my macbook before and they worked perfectly fine. Just wanted to get a second opinion before I went ahead and did anything.

I just looked at them on the Corsair site and on Amazon (where they're $219) but I don't know of anyone who has used them. Seem to get good reviews, though. I just couldn't find (maybe because I didn't read far enough into the text) how they hook up to your system? USB or audio out?

I've been looking for some really good speakers for my computer - I used to have Bose but don't want to spend that much right now. I've put them on my Amazon wish list, based on the reviews. I don't do gaming but I do like my music - my new Apple Thunderbolt Display has some decent speakers, really (a great improvement over my MBP) but I'd like something with some more oomph!
