Is the corsair sp2500 speaker system compatible with a macbook pro?

I've seen people say that you can and people say that you need all of these adapters. I've hooked up a pair of pc speakers to my macbook before and they worked perfectly fine. Just wanted to get a second opinion before I went ahead and did anything.

Did you have a look at them on Amazon? Here. $220. When you get them, will you let me know how they sound? I've been looking for some really good speakers for my computer - I used to have Bose but don't want to spend that much right now. I've put them on my Amazon wish list, based on the reviews. Click on my name to see my profile and get my email address. If you get them, let me know how you like them, OK? I don't do gaming but I do like my music - my new Apple Thunderbolt Display has some decent speakers, really (a great improvement over my MBP) but I'd like something with some more oomph!

Thanks,

Clinton
