iPhone backup not listed

I was backing up my iPhone 4. The backup was done. Then, I was trying to restore from backup on my new iPhone 5. But it said that an erorr occured. I restarted my Mac and synced my iPhone again but it won't let me give me the option to restore from a back up. Help.
