Can I update my IPod 3rd Gen to iOS 6?

Yes but I think you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to 4.2.1

Try restart your iPod by holding down the home and sleep/wake at the same time until the silver apple sign shows and wait

i got iPod touch 8gb with iOS 4.2.1...i cnt download a single app cz all apps require minimum iOS 4.3..drs no app wich work in iOS 4.2.1..what do i do.?

You have two choices:

- Live without the apps

- Get a newer model iPod and use the apps.

Do you know if I can send compatible apps via Email??? I got alot of apps that are still compatible for iOS 4.2.1.....

Apps are locked to the account that purchased them. I could only install an app you sent me if y also gave me your Apple ID and password but that would violate the terms you agreed to when you created the account

The "8gb ipod touch 3rd gen" was acutally just a second gen with a bit of upgrades. All it got was a updated bootrom. you know you have it if you go to general then about, on model it should have MC if it has MB then you have the 2nd gen.

But no upgraded internals except from that.

Why have all the updates stopped for the ios on the 3rd gen ipod touch?

Because its hardware does not support a later iOS version
