How do I get video clips to display in the iMovie 11 Preview window?

I was working with a video project in iMovie, and suddenly, in the middle of editing, the video disappeared from the preview window. If I play the video from the Event folder, I see it fine, but if I play it from the timeline, I get audio only and just a grey screen for video. Some video clips will not even play.

Did I click a button by mistake and change a setting somewhere? Thanks!

iMovie '11, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I would suggest shutting down iMovie and then re-starting your Mac. It sounds like you are out of virtual memory. A restart should cure it.

Well, that made sense, but unfortunately, it did not do the job. Still can't see the video in the preview window. It won't play at all when I hit the space bar. But, the videos below that I imported DO play in the preview window. I guess I may be going to a Genius Bar.
