My Macbook trackpad can't register either tap or click input, but I can still scroll and use it to navigate. How do I fix this?

My trackpad just worked well before, no problems, but when I ran a MSDOS emulator, it suddenly stopped responding to any tap/click input. A day before the emulator just worked fine, so I don't think it's an issue of software compatibility. I've restarted it, trying to reset PRAM, and still no dice. I can't even get the dock popping out by hovering the cursor over it using trackpad. I am using a wireless mouse right now and it registers any click input of it.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.7)
