i am setting up a new wireless mouse but cannot select anything for set up as I have no cursor yet

hello,

I am switching from a track pad which i retured to a mouse, now I don't have the mouse hooked up yet as I cannot maneuver the cursor to select the set up prompts, what does one do?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

If you have a regular wired mouse around the house you could use that temporarily just to set up the new one.
