Q: IEEE1394a TV Tuners?

Okay, so I have here a PowerBook G4 12" running at 867MHz. I know it's nothing particually fast, or fancy, but I like it.

I have been looking around to see if I can find a TV tuner that will operate on it (running Mac OS X 10.4.11), and all the topics I've found are either early 2009 or earlier, and nothing mentioned seems to exist any more. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one of these FireWire Tuners (for Aus PAL)? I would prefer under $100, and HD is not necessary, SD is fine.

Some help on this would be great.

    Hello,

There is something called EyeTV which works off FireWire for the Mac.

They may not produce a new model suitable for the PowerBook, but one of their earlier models should work fine (EyeTV 400)

Not sure if something like this would be a viable in your specific country, but it would be worth an investigation.

Maybe an auction site like eBay may have one secondhand you cold buy for your PiwerBook.

I have been looking for such a device, so far without sucess. I have been searching on eBay and there doesn't seem to be anything anywhere near what I'm after.

Would there be any other site I could look and might find such a device? Or would USB 1.1 be sufficent to opperate a USB version?
