iTunes will not open

Hi All, I have just installed iTunes on my new laptop, its a Dell Precision M6700 running 64bit windows 7 pro. iTunes installed without any errors however when i try to run it nothing happens. I have tried various things like stopping the bonjour service and deleting some hidden files(when i went looking for them they are not there).

Have also uninstalled and reinstalled all apple products from the laptop - this had no effect. Quicktime run fine

Does anyone have any suggestions? This is doing my head in!

Can you check something for me please?

Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.

Now try to launch iTunes.

Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?
