how do i change my apple id?

Do this on a computer (not an iPad)

• Go to https://appleid.apple.com
• Click the blue "Manage Your Apple ID" button
• Sign in with your Apple ID and password
• Next to "Apple ID and Primary Email Address" click edit
• change it
• Save Changes

What if I get this "This email address is designated as your rescue email address and cannot be used as your Apple ID or Primary email address. Please choose another."

How do I update my new e-mail to my apple id if I don't have access to my old e-mail anymore...

Log in under your old email address. It does not have to be active.

Designate a new email address that meets all the specified criteria - that is, not one that is already in use as an Apple ID, not dot - me, dot - iCloud, dot - mac etc, not an alternate email address, and not a Rescue email address.

How do you remove something from being your rescue email address, i can't find anything in my account that speaks to that.
