Q: Do I need to download extra apps to maintain and protect my iMac and Mountain Lion?

I have Mountain Lion on my iMac. Do I need to download utilities like CCleaner, Onyx, some anti-virus program? Anything else? What does Apple recommend? I had MacKeeper, but It slowed down and sometimes froze my computer, so I got rid of it.
