Padlock icon?

What is the little padlock icon that is in the upper right hand corner by percentage of battery?

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular (VZ)

    It's the rotation lock. Prevent your image from rotating when you turn your iPad.

    It could be this... Orientation Lock


    Settings > General > Lock Rotation..

     

    Or...

     

    Double-press the home button...

     

    Swipe to the right until you get to the Portrait Orientation Button...

    Rotation lock. Screen won't rotate, it's locked in position.

     

    To unlock double tap the home button, swipe left to right at the bottom. The far left arrow unlocks it, you'll notice the lock in the middle of it.

    Thank you ... I feel like a dummy.  I switched it off already.  I don't even remember turning it on.  Must have been my 4 y/o.  He knows more about the iPad than me.
