If you're running Mac OS X 10.6 through 10.6.7, run the Software Update pane of System Preferences.
If you're running 10.5.8 or earlier on an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.
If you're running 10.5.8 or earlier on a PowerPC Mac, give up.

So there is no way for me to update if im using Mac OS X Version 10.5.8?
Right. iTunes 10.7 requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer.

I have to buy a new mac just to use my new iphone 5 with itunes?
No, you don't. If your Mac is too old to run Snow Leopard, buy a secondhand Mac which can; any Mac model released in the last six years is capable of doing so.

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
One we know what it is exactly you are running we can be more specific.

With your computer you can certainly upgrade at least 10 OSX 10.6 and possibly further. You need 10.6 to start with before doing further upgrades so order it. Once you have the basic 10.6 installer DVD you can update 10.6 to 10.6.8 using the free updater.
