Can't Add to iPhoto from Mail - function in Mail.app broken?

I did try several Emails with different .jpg images attached, the option "Add to iPhoto" is visible in the pulldown menue (click "Safe" next to Quick Look), one can select it, but nothing happens.

No difference if iPhoto is open or not. I did do a permissions repair on the iPhoto library (9.4.1), but no change.

My system is at 10.8.2 with the recent supplement.

I checked the Console for error log entries, but could not locate something fitting.

Any suggestion how to fix? Or is it a bug?

Conclusion: It is a bug and needs to be reported either via

- iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback and report the bug
