Why double photos in iPhone Photo Library

I have about 1300 photos on my iPhone transferred from iPhoto.

Recently I noticed that in my iPhone main photo library the pictures are in twice BUT not in the individual albums.

I also have Aperture BUT have not used Aperture for my iPhone transfers.

I do not know when this first occurred other then it would have been recently over the past few months.

I have updated my OS and Aperture
