    I see.

    You can check your signal strength if you press: *3001#12345#* than press call. After it you will see Field Test menu, look at top left corner and there will be "-XX" (dBm). If you see signal from -1...-120 dBm for 3G and -1...-104 for GSM - it is OK.

    It might be the problem with antenna, but i do not thing so.

    On my iPhone 5 the signal strength is very good in contrast to the iPhone 3G, there was really bug with antenna.

    I am inclined to think that this problem is coverage of your network. You can check it very easy to insert your sim into an another iPhone 5, which works OK in the same area, where you have problem.

    If this antenna defects - you should repair your iPhone.

    I have had my iPhone 5 exchanged twice for a new one (only by demand)

    by Apple and it still hasn't solved the problem! I also had weak signals

    with my iPhone 4 & 4S.It cannot be my operator as I still have an

    old Nokia 6233 on the same operator which displays a full 5 bars at home

    sitting next to my iPhone 5 which struggles to reach 2 or 3 bars of signal.

    I think that proves that it is a weak antenna problem with iPhones.

    If this was a coverage problem, then switching the aeroplane mode on and back off again would not change it from "No Service" to showing the full 5 signal strength bars indicating perfect coverage.

    In this case it is not coverage problem.

    I have written my thoughts about it:


    "As far as I understand, after signal lost iPhone 5 is trying to search the network. But if there is more than one operator it might be a problem. If you try to search the network in manual mode and choose another network, iPhone 5 is trying to connect and does not recieve failure. I do not know why, maybe it is IOS bug. And after it you will see "no service". In this mode you can call 911 or 112, but "no service" still present. Lets try to do this on 3GS, you will see refuse and then back to your permitted network. It is OK."

    I have had my iPhone replaced by Apple. I went to replace it again on Saturday and was told that they are aware of the problems with EE and are working to fix the issue. I then called EE and demanded that they let me cancel my contract. It's a joke, I have 'no service'. I reboot; no service. Reset network settings; no service. I've had issues as have all of us. Now EE are sending me a new SIM. I hate the iPhone 5 and/or EE one of them has been terrible. As soon as I can I will switch to Vodafone and hopefully I won't have the same issues.

    Were they able to fix it? I have zero service 80-90% of the time. NO service the entire 8.5 hrs i am at work. I had the blackberry before and had perfect service everywhere. Since the 1st day I had the iPhone 5 I have had issues. I have tried every trick. I even replaced the phone and SIM...were you able to get any help!??!

    Hi all,

    Using an i5. I recently changed from 02 (UK) to 3 as I never had a 3G signal in my house with them. I never had any "No Service" issues with O2 while using the 2G network.


    After a wek of being with 3 I got the "No Service" issue so called 3 and followed all their suggestions which came to nothing so I decided to to a full restore via iTunes. When the phone was reset to factory settings I got a full signal but as soon as I tried to put all my data back from the iTunes backup I got the no service issue again. I did the same a couple of other times with the same result. After speaking to 3 they said it proves this was currupted data caused by an app, I am not convinced by this at all. I have now left my i5 set up as new, am deleting my apps from iTunes and re-downloding them as and when I need them. A PITA but I want to at least rule out a currupt app.


    So in conclusion, for me at least, there was something in software that could be backed up by iTunes causing the problem.

    I have Iphone 5 in UAE with the same issue , Apple have replaced my Phone yasterday and the new one have teh same issue it happend twice today , i have checked with couple of friends and all having the same issue

    I've had the same issue for over 12 hours now. I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned in the past 20+ pages, but I just got off of the phone with a Bell tech agent.


    They asked me to reset the network settings (under general->reset) and it worked.


    I re-enabled everything and it still worked.


    The tech support agent said that it's an LTE issue.

    I have a 30 day old iphone5 in New York, and I have  been experiencing similar issues. It is very frustrating that my phone will go from LTE to 3G and then to no service. I am beyond annoyed. Verizon is saying I can exchange for a refurbished iphone. I now see this is a bigger issue - hardware or software - I just want a phone that WORKS! For what its worth, my husband's phone (on the same network) has full coverage.


    The fact that the battery goes on a complete nose-dive while all of this is happening just adds insult to injury.

    I experience this problem went two cellular companies as good and one second better than I did here in Israel talented reset network settings issue happens to me mostly just that I was in a protected space is actually also a room where old here in Israel is that the reason or my iPhone is faulty do you think

    I've had my phone 5 weeks & had issues from day 1, I thought it was my network provider at first as I changed from 02 to EE, now all I get it the No Signal most of the day & on the odd occasion my phone does have a connection the other person can't hear what I'm saying as it's too crackly, I never get LTE at all 3G is rare & never connects outside the house, I have done the network settings more times than I care to mention & have restored it on 6 occasions all to no avail, I rang EE who are useless & accept no responsibility they have told me to contact Apple, I have an appointment tomorrow at the Genius bar a mere 85 miles away from where I live as this was the only place with an appointment, I can't wait to see if they deny all knowledge of this problem, I will just add that my Hubby bought his phone from the same store 7 days before mine on the same network & he hasn't had any issues with his. if I get no satisfaction I will take it further & demand a refund from EE as the phone is not fit for purpose, I shall update accordingly

    UPDATE !. picked up a new iphone 5 from the Apple Store today seemed to be working perfect until I restored it from back up of my old phone & the dreaded NO SERVICE is back, I don't know if the back up was a coinsidence as only had it a few hours.

    Oh dear.Backing up from the faulty one

    is the worst thing you could have done.

    You should have started it off afresh as a new phone.
