mail importing (time machine)

I had a problem with my disk

I repaired it and with time machine got it working

now when I open the email (mail) it starts importing and always stops importing (it is taking for ever) at inbox from the cloud mail I can only cancel (next time you open mail same import) and I can't open the mail

what can I do?
