Reminders do not sync between iMac and iPhone

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion AND ios6 and everything is fine except no matter what, the reminders on the imac do not synch to my iphone and vise versa. I do not use iCloud and the reminder account is just on my mac and just on my iphone
