Q: Help!!! New apple user

I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch 32gb. The WiFi is disabled because I believe the previous owner fried the antenna. It says in the owners manual that it will play video and that is why I got it. I have been able to put music on it and games, but whenever I download TV shows or movies for it, they won't sync. I get an error message. From what I can find on Apple, I have the upgraded system.

This is the 1st Apple product that I own. Have always had Android stuff and am thinking, Apple isn't that friendly.

Please help with suggestions.

iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod
iTunes: Frequently asked questions about viewing and syncing videos
What is the source of the TV shows or movies? iTunes? The 3G iPod can only sync/play SD videos. You may have downloaded HD videos.

I got the video from iTunes. It did not say HD, so I assume that it was SD.

The error message I get is

the video name "was not copied to the iPod because it cannot be played on this iPod."

Hope that helps. This has been very frustrating for me.

Likely you downloaded the HD version. Redownload the SD version and try syncing.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I did look at that link.

I went back and looked at the pilot that I downloaded and it had 2 buttons. I was trying to get any of the new shows pilots. They have HD episode buttons and download buttons. Does this mean they are only in HD? In the Apple FAQ it says that SD versions download with HD. I just can't get it to work.

iTunes is very confusing to me.

So I downloaded SD formats and I still get the same error message. I bought this ipod specifically for videos.
