IMac Burns CDs but not DVDs .. what could be the problem???

Hi guys,

When ever I try to burn a DVD, it starts working then for some reason stopes.

Thes have been the case for a while now ..

The strange thing is when I try to burn CDs I face no problems.

So anybody had the same problem or knows how to fix it ???


I tryed updating everyhting but still no luck.

Not an uncommon problem.


Start by cleaning the Superdrive using a proprietary CD lens cleaner that uses tiny brushes.


If that didn't fix it try a SMC reset:


Resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) on Intel-based Macs:

If that didn't fix it get an external DVD burner!
