My macbook pro suddenly will not give me the "@" when pressing alt 2. It now shows the symbol ™ instead?

™ - "alt" (option) and 2...

@ - Shift and 2

On a US standard keyboard layout.

You should be able to go to System Preferences>Language & Text and click on the Input Sources tab and select whichever Swedish keyboard system you like:

I've no idea why it would have 'switched' but give this a try.

now you have US english-like layout. Before you had some other. Find Mac that still gives you alt-2 as @ and see what layout is there.

Go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and Uncheck the box for Swedish and Check the box for Swedish Pro.

Since today i have the same problem:

Alt+2 -> ™

Alt+3 -> €

I checked the system preferences/language & text/input sources ant it is set to Polish PRO.

i would really appreciate your help in this matter 🙂

Check the box for Polski and Uncheck the box for Polski Pro

It helped with @ and # but changed all other things... 🙂

When you have it set to Polish, which keys do not produce what is printed on them? If you have a Polish hardware keyboard, that should be the correct match. If you do not have a Polish hardware keyboard, what kind is it?

I have Polish hardware, and above 2 i have @.

Yeah, i guess you are right i'll use shift.

I'm also confused now because shift sees so natural now, and yearly in the morning it seemed so wrong i thought there is something wrong with my keyboard, i guess it's the lack of sleep 😉

I think Apple at some point has changed the standard hardware keyboard for Polish. I have a reference that shows it used to be just "Polish" (with @ at alt + 2) and now it must be "Polish Pro" (with @ at shift + 2).
