Apple Loops Logic Pro

Hello everyone,

This is my first time asking help through this forum.

I recently purchased Logic Pro for my iMac (OSX 10.6.8) via the App Store. I proceded to get

an Apple Training Course for Audio Production with Logic Pro. I'd like to do the certification at

the end of this course and proceed to do the advanced course.

I find however that the loops that are mentioned in the book are not present in my installation

of Logic Pro, already in the first chapter (where you have to construct a song using a Trip Hop

drum loop) I have to revert to the file that came with the course DVD, it works of course fine,

but I'm interested in how I can get the official loops that you're supposed to be using.

Is there anyone that can help me, because I can't seem to find the loops anywhere, they are

not in the App Store and neither can I find them on Apple.com

Cordially,

Paul van Kesteren.

Hi

Sounds like you may not have downloaded all the additional content for Logic?

Go to Logic Pro Menu:Download Additional Content

Hi Paul,

I have these books and they have helped me a lot. On the DVD, there should be a folder called "Logic 9 Files". Copy that to your hard drive. Open the lessons from there. Inside that folder should be all the project files and audio files. The "trip hop loop" you are looking for should be in Logic 9 Files/Media/New Day/Audio Files/Trip Hop Loop. Hope this helps.

Hi everybody,

Back again, I downloaded every single byte of extra content but somehow I can still not locate the first file asked for in the book (Trip Hop 70's Room Beat) Sure, I can use the loop provided on the DVD, but I'm just curious why if I have downloaded all of the available content I cannot find these files, coz this is just the first one... 😟

Any insight on this situation would be helpful.

Thanks for all your input sofar.

Cheers,

Paul.

I think the Apple training course would work exactly as advertised if you were using the boxed version of Logic. From reading the many posts on this board I'm pretty sure Apple altered the content of the App store version so it no longer matches the boxed version.

Many who upgraded their Logic 8.xx boxed version via a Logic 9 app store purchase had problems with missing file from previously created projects.

Hi

My copy of the Remix JamPack loops installer (download) has "Trip Hop 70s Room Beat" with no apostrophe.

Have a look in Library:Audio:Apple Loops:Apple:Jam Pack Remix Tools and see if it is there

You've almost arrived there with a little nudge in the right direction (try dragging the loop file from the finder onto the Loop interface).

This is only the first of a large number of questions you'll have, but, if you're serious about it, I genuinely wish you luck in getting there.
