Please Help me! I really need a solution

I have a macbook pro late 2011. Yesterday I tried updating my software and when its done, my desktop wallpaper turned into blank blue.

I tried locating the file Library/com.apple.desktop.plist but I could not find it.

I also tried to do the desk repair but still..

Really Need your help in that!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

you did not write what is the essence of problem. Changing wallpaper? missed folders in system/library? something else? What for you're searching for com.apple.desktop.plist?

Did you go to System Preferences/Desktop and Screensaver panel and reselect your choice of desktop?
