Thunderbird Switch From PC

I am trying to move my emails from Thunderbird on my PC to Thunderbird on my Mac mini. I have the PC profile contents on a data stick but cannot find where to install the data. In OS 10.7.5, which folder might contain Thunderbird/Profiles ? It isn't Users/Admin/Library/Thunderbird; I don't seem to have Library in ~Users/Admin.

Many thanks.

The contents of your PC Profile goes in /Users/YourUserName/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/(the default profile already set up). It's been a while since I've done this but I believe how you got the profile onto your data stick in the first place matters. Since some of those files are hidden, a drag-copy will leave them behind. A copy and then paste in Windows should get them all.

Hi!!

Take a look at this website...

Migrating To A New OS

Mozbackup is only for Windows, so if you are moving to a Mac, you are stuck, right? Wrong! The backup file is basically the profile directory in a zip file. If you are migrating to a Mac, unzip the file and then import the contents into your Mozilla profile directory. This effectively gives you the same settings as the profile on your old computer.

Do you have any tips for using Mozbackup to keep your machine up to date and backed up? Let us know below!

Hope it helps 🙂

Greetings!
