Hi, Recently when I tried to upload photos to facebook or emails (tried all google, yahoo, hotmail), the photo library quits unexpectedly while I can access other documents, movies etc. Appreciate some insights as it never happens before.

In Safari go to the Safari Privacy preference pane and click on the Details button.
In the next window do a search for Google and delete all Google cookies found:
Close Safari, launch iPhoto and try again.

Thanks Old Toad. I tried and at first attempt I used Safari to open facebook. When I try to click 'Attach photo/video', the file selection window finally shows up but no photos are displayed under either Events or Photos in the Photo Library. Then I cancelled it and tried 'Create album', Safari was stagnant and not reacts at all.
The same issue happened when I try to attach files in email. The file selection window shows up when I click but closes immediately.
I've also tried that with different browsers Chrome, Firefox but similar problem exists.
Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it does'nt then your current library is the culprit and we'll look into fixing it.

Try the following on your main library: make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Use the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager to merge your primary library into the new, working one.
