HT203442: iPod nano (6th generation): Music stops when display turns off

Learn about iPod nano (6th generation): Music stops when display turns off

Q: There is more to this than the earphone connection.  If I tap the unit once the screen dims, it will continue to play.  But it shuts off if I don't.  What is going on?  It will also continue to play if I run the stop watch, for up to 6 minutes.

How do I keep this from happening?

And you are positive the headphones are plugged all the way in, meaning the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Nano and no silver from the plug can still be seen.  If so, try another headset to make sure the current one isn't damaged/faulty.
