ARD some clients can't authenticate

For some strange reason I cannot Observe/Control clients (all of which are on ARD 3.5.3). The authentication window pops up for a split seccond and dissapears. All clients are EXACTLY the same as they have been imaged but I maybe able to connect to 9 out of the 14 but not the other 5.

Have you checked to see if the IP address for the systems that will not connect is already shown as being used by another computer in the All Computers list? ARD has developed a bad habit of keeping an IP assigned to a particular computer and blocking any attempt to use that same IP (assigned by a DHCP server) to a different computer.
