MacBook Pro Display going gray? Cost to fix??

I have a 15" MacBook Pro, either Mid-2007 or Late-2007 with 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2. I have been having display issues for a while that are not getting worse. The bottom 2/3 of the screen goes gray or random colums of color. It used to be only right when turned on or if the screen too much, but I could fix it by pinching the right side of the screen/bezel? It now does constantly and I have resorted to using a binder clip when I use it. I have included pictures to show the problem and my temporary fix.

Anyone have any idea what the issue is? I assume it is some connection going bad, but I really am not that tech savvy to know. Big question is is it something I can repair or is this a pro only kind of repair and what kind of cost am I looking at.?

No Apple Store or AASP near me. Closest one is about 1 1/2 hours away. Also, this is our secondary laptop that we only use from time to time, so I really don't want to drop $1-2,000 for a brand new or even newer used MBPro. Just looking for the easiest, cheapest repair option. As there is no repair/serice centers nearby, I will have to ship it somewhere. I would like to know what my rough costs are going to be before I ship and get stuck paying shipping and/or ebnch fees if it is not going to be worth it to fix it right now.

May be worth the trip........

If the following pertains to your model Macbook Pro, the repairs will be free - MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues. The affected computers were manufactured between approximately May 2007 and September 2008.

No one here can answer that. YOu will need to call the repair shop and ask for an estimated cost.
