Ah, great to hear, thanks! 🙂

It was having trouble looking up URLs...

DNS Servers are a bit like Phone books where you look up a name and it gives you the phone number, in our case, you put in apple.com and it comes back with 17.149.160.49 behind the scenes. 🙂

These Servers have been patched to guard against DNS poisoning, and are faster/more reliable than most ISP's DNS Servers.

What browser are you using and what version? Are you using any extensions with your browser? Do you have anything in Input Menus (might be called Input Methods.) Look in your Home Folder Library and the HD Library for those.

EDIT: Oh, I see it's Safari. Try Firefox and see if it makes any difference.

Also try just quitting Safari, clearing the cache and cookies and reopening it. You can always get the cookies back.

Yes I'm well a restart may sometimes cure some minor glitches, and it certainly releases the swap space (although I don't see that, in particular, having anything to do with this issue), but I question your advice to restart daily.

And I question whether a restart has anything to do with solving this problem, which is that some web pages aren't loading. This doesn't sound like a system glitch at all.

You could look at this other recent thread but I doubt that you have the same problem:

What have you done to this Mac since it last worked properly?

Can you paste a few URLs that don't work and a few which do?

Do you have virus software or strange firewall settings?

Are Java, JavaScript and cookies enabled?
