Additional things to try.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I have the same problem. My ipad won't connect to the gateway (easily). I get the "unable to connect to network" message when I try. However, for some reason I can if my computer is on and connected to the network. I can try and try with the ipad and get that same message but as soon as I turn the computer on and its connected to the wifi, then go and try again with the ipad it immediately connects.

You quite probably don't have the same problem. It would be best to start a new thread for your problem rather than tack it on to a six week old thread. Please give details on your network configuration, e.g., router make, model, and version, router firmware level, etc.

It sounds like you have some sort of network/router configuration problem.

I just spend frustrating weeks with no apple devices since changing my Comcast router to the new built in wireless one - and customer service at Comcast tries to make you pay for annual tech support to "reconfigure your network and devices" -- but the simple answer is indeed: Go into the router settings under Parental Control > Managed Sites and make sure that all of the devices aka "Computers" you want to use are "Trusted" It says right on the page that ALL devices that are not considered Trusted will block Internet access. Good luck!
