I have a Macbook 5,1 (late '08 model) aluminum body. I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.8 with a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. I'd like to up my RAM to 8 GB and plan to order the RAM below, but I don't know if what I've selected will work... Can anyone tell me whether I'll be able to simply swap out the existing memory with this new memory?
Also, should I/could I upgrade my OS before/after installing new RAM?

Yes, it looks like that memory should work fine with your computer.

5,1 supports 8gb without the firmware update. That article is for the non aluminum 4,1 models.
