iPad does not recognize printer

My iPad will not connect to HP 3050 printer, it does connect to Internet through router and printer also connects to router

the pad will only see the printer if it is airprint enabled. the 3050 a is, but the 3050 is not. (I think) here is the ful list.

you may still be fine. check the app store for one of the many print apps like print'n share

Restart your iPad, the router, and the printer.

The unknown in your circumstance is the router. Check for firmware updates, or use an Apple AirPort base station instead.

I did check one of your previous replies to another

Switch printer, router and iPad off then turn the router on last in line

This worked but only for one print session so it seems that I need a better router - AirPort.
