Regularly I get "No Service" and a reboot gets 3 or 4 bars of 3G service. I miss many calls because of this? Is this an iPhone problem or network related?

I have the same issue... I only get 3 bars of service where I should get 5 ...
I am experiencing the same problem. My daughter has an i-phone 4S on the same network and her signal is fine when next to my i-phone 4 with 'no service'. It's not a network issue. When I reboot the signal comes back along with missed calls and texts. Very frustrating.
I eventually switched hardware away from iPhone. For me it was the incompatibility of iphone 4s and 3 Network Ireland. I sold on the phone factory unlocked and the buyer says it's working perfectly. I am running Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on 3 Network now and it's a peach!!! Perhaps the iPhone 5 may have worked better but I didn't like the chatter about that either.....Good Luck People !!!
