I am just wondering if there is a way to increase email checking in mail program.. Reason being is when I receive email on my iphonme/ipad, i get it right away but the Apple mail program is slower.
Any ideas here would be welcome.

Well, if you have a POP account, you set the frequency of checking at Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data and then set the Fetch time.
Sorry, the response above is how to set the time on iPhone / iPad.
To set the time in Apple Mail, go to Mail > Preferences > General and set "Check for New Messages" to your desired frequency.
One last thought: In Apple Mail, if you want to check for new mail "right now", then click the closed envelope in the upper left of the mail display.
