sound issue, my ipad 3 sound doesnt work

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?

Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.

Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

Most people will, eventually, have sound problems: the cause can be complex as a 'miss-behaved' app that messes the sound engine or as simple as the iPad being on Mute/Volume Down.

1. Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right

2. Check the volume and mute settings

Tried all of those things. Still didn't work. :-(

Start checklisting whether the issue is not caused by something trivial such as:

• Settings > Sounds > Lock Sounds (should be set to OFF not ON)
• Settings > Music > Volume Limit (should be set to OFF)

If not, I'd say it is a hardware issue and your iPad needs to be taked to the nearest Apple Store.
