I know i need snow leopard but apple doesnt sell it and on amazon there were 2 different ones so i dont know what one to get

so i got the disk, but my computer isnt reading it.. it goes in then come out...
What type of Mac do you have? Go up to the upper left and click on the Apple logo and then choose About This Mac. What type of processor does it say you have?
Well the reason the disk wasn't working was because it was used and I have a 2.66 Ghz intel core 2 duo
What snow leopard do I get 10.6 or 10.6.3?

If it originally came with a different Mac it won't work as such install disks are machine-specific.
Rather than have an unlicensed copy, you can buy it from the Apple Store for onl9 $19.99:

This will be 10.6.3 so run Software Update after installation.
My mac is version 10.5.8 how do i update it to the latest version.
