Removing a device from my apple id account

I have an apple id accont with multiple devices including my son's iPod touch. I would like to remove his iPod touch and create a new apple id account for him so it's completely seperate from mine. I would also like to do this without deleting everything on his iPod (game info etc.). I can't find how to do this. Any suggestions?

No need to remove the device from your Apple ID, actually no way to do this.

Simply sign out of your Apple ID on his device and sign in with his new Apple ID.

Just be aware that content acquired under an Apple ID is permanently tied to that Apple ID. Therefore, to install updates for Apps going forward, he may still require the password for your Apple ID.

Changing Apple ID's has no affect on the content on the device.

I did that but I got a message saying that iphone will reappear when it connects to the internet??

I went to manage devices in itunes account info setting and the iphone wasn't there.

It had my apple id, so it must have been associated with my account...

Might be it got deleted from my apple ID when I erased the device?

anyway, I sold it and don't ever want to see it in find my devices....how?
