Long story short, I am trying to down grade to the previous firmware to correct an issue with home sharing.
This is the first time I have even tried to plug this unit into any computer.....
When I try to plug in my ATV3 to my iMac it does not light up (white LED), nor does iTunes acknowledge it's connected.
I tried plugging into a netbook I have as well just to see, still nothing.
Did I just get an ATV3 with a bad USB?
Well nevermind!
Turns out unllike my ATV2, you need to plug in the actual power cord for an ATV3 at the same time.
Can I give myself 10 points for figuring it out? đ

Yep, it took us a few weeks to realise that once AppleTV3 was releaed - it's there on the support pages.
I don't like the microUSB connection at all. My AppleTV 3 dpes not work with certain microUSB leads and does with others.
