Restored from backup and dont see my text messages, missed calls or pictures

since i upgraded to the iOS6 ive experienced some problems with my wi-fi so i decided to restore my phone.

i backed everything up on itunes, and then restored it.

when i backed up it put all my applications back and contacts, however i am missing all my text messages and photos.

the weird thing is that while its restoring it shows that on the back up there is about 20GB saved and then it goes down to like 18GB, so i know it backed up everything but for some reason it won't put it back on my phone.

is there anyone else who experienced it or know how i can fix this?
