Upgrade to Mountain Lion

Hi there,


I have the following Macbook, acquired as a hand me down,


Just wondered whether its going to be beneficial for me to update or will it just make the experience a bit slower and not so quick, would rather trade off the upgrade for speed if its not gooing to be as quick,
