I bought the Iphone 5 from carphone warehouse, when I buy it, it shows sim-free, is sim-free means unlocked and how to check whether iphone 5 have lock or not in apple offical website

Your phone will lock to the first UK carrier sim you install. The ONLY source for officially unlocked iPhones in the UK is Apple...NO WHERE ELSE.

Take it back and insist on getting your money back

or you might as well buy one from a carrier on contract if you are a UK resident

and save money

if not a UK resident it is useless to you

UK carriers will not be unlocking the iP5 for some time
