Persistant display of today's events on the lock screen

How do I get a persistant display of today's events on the lock screen with iOS 6? I have searched the iPhone 5 user manual, Apple Support, the internet, and contacted Apple Support without a solution. I have searched for apps to perform this feature, but I have been unsuccessful finding one. I wonder if this capability is patented by an Apple competitor?
